Jenna purchased a DVD recorder for my Christmas gift this year. I plan to use it primarily for transferring our own VHS tapes and Mini-DV recordings to DVD. I just completed my first attempt and had a success! I was able to move our wedding and reception from seperate VHS tapes to a single DVD. Now I'm on to all the video of the kids from birth to now...

And Christmas day at Jenna's parents' place. It's been a long week. Thank goodness I've been on vacation the entire time. We head out to our last Christmas party with my dad's side of the family the first weekend in January.

Our American Idol.

Christmas morning at our place.

Brody looking sharp.

Enjoying Christmas Eve with
my side of the family.

We went to church today for
the last time before Christmas,
so everyone was dressed in
their ho-ho-ho-iest outfits.

Jenna took the kids to see Santa today. We're progressing very nicely - only one hysterical child this year. We've come a long way, baby!

Welcome to our visitors today from Brazil, the Netherlands, and the Islamic Republic of Iran! I check Sitemeter from time to time to see where people live who visit the site, and found a visitor from Iran. Pretty neat. I've always been big in Indonesia, but now Iran? As Peter Griffin would say, "Sweeet."

Two shots of trees in our yard covered with snow and lit for the

And a bonus shot of Murphy.

Reagan has a love/hate relationship with the snow. Anytime it touches her, she hates it.

Lot's of new wet snow = impromptu sled hill off of the deck. It was a nice end to a day that required 3 uses of the snowthrower to keep the walks relatively clear.

Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way.
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one dog open sleigh.

Not quite Clark Griswold, but I'm working on it.

We had a few more inches of snow
this morning to go along with the
big dump of 8 inches on Friday.
The kids were able to try out
the new shovels my parents
purchased for them.

Murphy on duty. We hooked up the sled to him and he
pulled Declan around the block. Bernese Mountain
dogs are bred to pull carts, but we've never tried
it with Murphy. We didn't want to overtax him, so we
kept the ride short, but Murphy and Declan both loved it.

We hit Bronner's the other day with Gary, Lori, and Brody. Nothing like a few acres full of Christmas decorations and fifty thousand other people to fight through to see it all. Kidding aside, it's a neat store, and we love going there this time every year. We had a great time.

And the lighting of the Christmas Tree!

Downtown Lapeer looked great this evening,
but the milk jugs as votives seemed a bit....

We had a full day today. After
hitting the museum this morning
we relaxed at home for a spell and
then headed out to the Christmas
Tree lighting in downtown Lapeer.
